Meet RichMusic’s First Female Signed Artist PaoPao

RichMusic signs its First Female Artist PaoPao.

Independent music label RichMusic has signed their first female artist. Paola Nicole Marrero Rodríguez known musically as PaoPao joined RichMusic’s family in 2021.

In March of this year PaoPao along with rising urban artists La Gabi, ARIA VEGA, Cami Da Baby, and Villano Antillano, released an all-female EP “hembrismo” proving women are the future of the genre. The single “hebilla” earned PaoPao her first million streams and “roce” earned her her first nomination for Premios Juventud earlier this year.

PaoPao’s passion for music started at a young age. Her grandmother signed her up for piano lessons and she recalls spending hours singing and practicing vocals with her grandmother which she enjoyed.

“I moved around a lot and the only thing that remained constant in my life was music” said PaoPao during an interview.

Coming from a traditional family, PaoPao finished high school and moved from DR to Miami to attend University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. She completed her Master’s program in Music Business at Frost on a full scholarship.

In 2020 she won her first Latin GRAMMY® as a songwriter on the track “Ticket de Salida” included on Chiquis Rivera’s album “Playlist,” which was recognized by the academy as “Best Banda Album” of the year.

PaoPao releases her first EP “diamantes y espinas.”

PaoPao got her big break while interning at RichMusic and in 2021 became the record label’s first signed female artist.

PaoPao recently released her first solo EP, “diamantes y espinas,” a seven-song project that is a representation of PaoPao’s true self. The seven tracks range from grunge, alternative pop, trap, drill and reggaetón, of course.
