Meet Jose Garcia, better known as IAMCHINO (I am Chino), Pitbull’s most trusted-collaborator, co-writer and music producer.
IamChino’s star-studded and upbeat track “Ay Mi Dios” featuring Pitbull, Yandel and Chacal topped the Latin Airplay chart and currently holds a top 10 spot on the Hot Latin Songs chart.
The Miami-based artist, who is signed to Mr. 305 Inc. and has been DJ’ing for Pitbull since 2005 officially joined Pitbull‘s crew in 2011, and has been prominently featured both live and on record.
His work on the 2015 chart-topping and Grammy-winning album Dale was especially noted by critics. IamChino was officially signed to Pitbull‘s Mr. 305 label even before that, and dropped the club single “Amor” (feat. Wisin & Yandel).
His collaborations with Pitbull and his singles have solidified his rep, leading to production and DJ work with top-tier artists like Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, and Becky G.
IamChino made his debut with “Llámame” and now is introducing us to his remix “Llámame Remix” Ft. Lenier, MarkB and Eix.
IamChino is also working on releasing new music under a new genre “Crunkaton”, which fuses crunk and reggaeton, a name that his good friend & world-renowned artist and Philanthropist Akon suggested once IamChino explained to him what he was trying to create.
“Es un sonido que estoy desarrollando” dijo IamChino. “Queria hacer algo nuevo. Creo que la música urbana, esta bien, pero esta un poco muy suave y muy R&B para los clubs y los DJs.”
El primer sencillo de CRUNKATON se llama “Give It To Me” feat. Pitbull & Yomil y El Dany.
A collaboration with the Cuban duo before the untimely passing of El Dany, the track pays tribute to him with its unbridled display of his talent.
“This is the sound I always wanted,” he goes on. “The world lost El Dany, but I’m hoping everybody can see how dope he was. Pit loved the idea, so he’s rapping like he used to in the early days. I got to take what I listened to growing up and fuse it with the Latin movement. This is who I am.”
