Tainy Wins Producer-of- the- Year At 2020 Billboard Latin Music Awards

Big Wins at the 2020 Billboard Latin Music Awards last night. Multi-award-winning Puerto Rican producer, Tainy, took home the coveted award for Producer of the Year.

This momentous win further solidifies Tainy as one of the most influential and sought after producers in Latin music for his limitless ability to create music that is met with extreme commercial and global success.

In addition to his recognition, Tainy has enjoyed unprecedented success as he dominates the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top Latin Producer chart for a  record 51 weeks. 

Tainy’s Billboard Latin Music Awards win follows on the heels of what has been a highly successful year as he recently received his first Latin GRAMMY® nomination as an artist, with a total of four nominations in the categories: “Best Urban Song” for his global hit “Adicto,” featuring Anuel and Ozuna, “Record of the Year” for his work on “CHINA,” with Anuel, Daddy Yankee, Karol G, Ozuna, and J Balvin, and a double nomination in the “Album of the Year”category for his work on Bad Bunny’s YHLQMDLG album and for Bad Bunny and J Balvin’s album OASIS, respectively.

The producer and artist also experienced massive success with his hit track “Agua,” featuring global icon J Balvin for the official soundtrack for the Paramount Animation/Nickelodeon film THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: Sponge On The Run.

The song took the #1 spot in both the United States and Puerto Rico, and reached the top spot on Billboard’s Latin Pop, Latin Airplay, and Latin Rhythm charts.

“Agua” accrued over 500 million digital streams combined and also had much success with the viral social media “Agua Challenge.”

Tainy once again proved his superstar power with the release of the global anthem “Un Dia (One Day)” alongside Dua Lipa, J Balvin and Bad Bunny, which landed them the #1 spot on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart, making it the fourth title to top Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay, Latin Rhythm and Latin Pop Airplay charts in 2020.

Earlier this year, Tainy made his official debut as an artist with the release of his EP titled “The Kids That Grew Up On Reggaeton,” featuring tracks like “Mera” featuring Dalex & Alvaro Diaz, the history-making collaboration, “Lento,” with Sean Paul, Cazzu and Mozart La Para and “Tu Amiga” with Dylan Fuentes, Justin Quiles, Lennox & Llane.

This year’s triumphs build upon accomplishments Tainy secured in 2019 with his summer anthem “Adicto,” which accrued over 672 million views on Youtube and was certified 10x Platinum in Colombia and Peru; 9x Platinum in Ecuador; 4x Platinum in Mexico; and 2x Platinum in Argentina, Chile, El Salvador, and Costa Rica. “Adicto” also saw Tainy take home big wins at the Premios Tu Música Urbanofor Producer of the Year and Video of the Year.
