World-renowned producer/artist Marshmello has released his first-ever album, “Sugar Papi” – a club-boppin tribute to the Latin culture and its rhythms. The Latin GRAMMY® nominated hitmaker, who recently won his first Latin Billboard for ‘Crossover Artist of the year’, fuses his love for EDM and the rhythms of Latin culture to create an album that will make you want to run to the dance floor. The album “Sugar Papi”, which translates to Sugar Daddy, is influenced by sounds and artists all over Latin America.
“Sugar Papi” is home to 11 tracks and includes a star-studded lineup of collaborators like Nicky Jam, Farruko, Anuel AA, ManuelTurizo, Young Miko, Fuerza Regida, Polimá WestCoast, Tiago PZK, ChocQuibTown, Luisa Sonza, Lil Cake, and Brray.
Transcending into an electronic-fused reggaeton, the album’s focus track “Alcohol” featuring Anuel AA pairs sinister synthesizers with a melancholic reggaeton beat, perfectly encapsulating Marshmello’s innate ability to spotlight any genre with a one-of-a-kind twist.
“I’ve had the pleasure of being able to perform all across the world, and for me, nothing has ever been able to match the love and energy I’ve felt from the Latin community. Because of that, I knew it was important for me to find a way to bring my audience into this world as much as I could. Thank you to all Latinos for embracing me and allowing me to be a part of such an incredible culture,” said Marshmello.
In its repertoire, the album also highlights previously released singles “Tempo,” “El Merengue,” “Como Yo :(” and “Esta Vida.”
Showcasing the talent of today’s most prominent emerging breakout artists, Marshmello recruited Puerto Rican star Young Mikofor an innovative Latin trap fusion with a Jersey Club flair on “Tempo,” and teamed up with the Argentine star Tiago PZK for the nostalgic heartbreak anthem, “Como Yo 🙁.”
Earlier this year, the global hitmaker also celebrated the mega releases of “Esta Vida” with Farruko (which has amassed over 140 million worldwide combined streams) and “El Merengue” with Manuel Turizo, accumulating over 657 million combined streams. The global smash hit also notably earned Marshmello’s first #1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay Chart and his first ever Latin GRAMMY® nomination for the 24th edition of the award ceremony.
“Sugar Papi” is available on all digital and streaming platforms today.
