TeletonUSA Raises More Than $6 Million In Star-Studded Event

This years TeletonUSA Foundation surpassed their expectations and raised a whopping $6,379,218 million dollars and enrolled 1,123 “Padrinos” (godparents) to benefit the Children’s Rehabilitation Institute TeletonUSA (CRIT), a non-profit organization that offers comprehensive rehabilitation services to children with neurological, muscular and skeletal disabilities no matter their family’s ability to pay.

The donations were raised during TelevisaUnivision’s annual broadcasting fundraising event where celebrities such as Gloria Estefan, Maluma, Sebastian Yatra, J Balvin, Mau y Ricky, and Cindy Lauper among many others were on hand to bring world-wide attention to the cause and raise funds.

On November 29, Giving Tuesday, TelevisaUnivision announced a dollar-match donation initiative to support the TeletonUSA Foundation during this historical 10-year anniversary celebration.

With immense gratitude to the community and employee donors who helped raised more than $15,000 through the Univision Foundation website at www.univision.org, TelevisaUnivision tripled the contribution amount to a sum of $45,000 to the overall funds raised.

“The institute helps every family that comes through their doors regardless of their financial status and we are grateful to have the opportunity to collaborate with the TeletonUSA Foundation to help ensure even more patients have access to critical care. Improving the well-being of Hispanic and multicultural communities is our mission, and tonight’s event and donation helps us get even closer to this aim.” said Teri Arvesu, Senior Vice President, Social Impact and Sustainability, TelevisaUnivision.

With the funds from TelevisaUnivision and other donors’ contributions, CRIT will continue with its mission of creating a more inclusive and accepting world for children with disabilities.

“We are deeply grateful to our community that for yet another year has shown us the greatness of being united”, said Federica Soriano, CEO, TeletonUSA Foundation. “Thanks to the generosity of our people, we reached our goal to continue serving hundreds of children with disabilities and their families year after year.”
