Here’s What You Can Expect At Premios Juventud 2022

Premios Juventud anuncia nominaciones y hosts de este año y 10 categorías nuevas.

The hottest music award celebration of the summer Premios Juventud is back for its 19th edition. But unlike any of of the previous years, this years show will take place outside of Miami and includes new recognitions and a whole lot of ‘firsts’. Here’s what you can expect from this year’s Premios Juventud celebration.

From Miami to ‘la isla del encanto’, Premios Juventud will, for the first time ever, be televised Live from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The 19th edition will take place Live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot. And like a great philosopher once said, “Puerto Rico está cabrón”.

Premios Juventud has also added 10 new categories to this years ceremony. The new recognitions include Female Artist – On the Rise and Male Artist – On the Rise, to honor outstanding young stars. “PJ” will also recognize superstars in the world of acting with the awards My Favorite Actor and My Favorite Actress. The newly created Best On-Screen Couple category will recognize the best onscreen couple in a novela or series. Other new categories include My Favorite Streaming Artist, for the most popular artist on digital platforms; Best Couple Song, for performers who collaborated while they were in a romantic relationship; Tropical Hit, for the best song in this genre; The Best Beatmakers, for the best music producer or DJ; and Best Fandom, for the best fan group.

Prince Royce will debut as PJ host

Aside from new categories an all-star studded group of singers will be making their debuts as PJ hosts. Eduin Caz, lead vocalist and front man for Grupo Firme will make his PJ host debut alongside co-host and actress Clarissa Molina, singer Danna Paola and bachata superstar Prince Royce, one of the most nominated artists to “Premios Juventud” and winner of 20 PJ awards.

The popular Mexican content creator and singer Kenia Os is joining as a first-time PJ performer with a very special presentation. Some stars will also be providing us with some first-time performances. The popular boy band CNCO will perform for the first time on TV one of their newest hits.  The chart-topping Latin duo Mac y Ricky return to the stage to perform their hit “Mal Acostumbrao,” and for the first time on TV their latest single “Llorar y Llorar.”

Don’t forget to set your reminder for Thursday, July 21 7 p.m. ET/6 CT to watch Premios Juventud Live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot on Univision.
