This year’s 34th annual Premio Lo Nuestro award show was one for the books! Not only is it the FIRST award show that kick-off award season but it’s also the FIRST post COVID award show that we’ve had where things seemed ‘back to normal’. Yes, I’m talking about live performances with fans in the audience, a press room and their traditional magenta carpet.
If you somehow missed the show because you stayed out too late for Happy Hour, its okay. We’ve got all of the most memorable moments for you.
The opening act started with a homage to Mexican music legend el difunto Vicente Fernandez who recently passed away in December 2021. Ángela Aguilar, Camilo, Christian Nodal, David Bisbal, and Grupo Firme all joined the stage for an unforgettable performance.
El duo de la historia Wisin y Yandel made their way back to the stage for their debut premiere of their new hit “No Se Olvida”.
Talk about crossovers, iconic rockstar Sting premiered his new Spanish song “Por Su Amor” from the arena’s rooftop.
The most talked about moment at Premios Lo Nuestro would have to be Farruko’s acceptance speech for his “Premio Lo Nuestro A La Excelencia Urbana” award. With tears in his eyes, Farruko said:
Bad Bunny was the biggest winner of the night taking home six premios including the coveted “Album of the Year”. He was followed by Calibre 50, Camilo, CNCO, Grupo Firme, Karol G, and J Balvin with three each.
