TeletónUSA Foundation announced that this year’s “TeletónUSA” broadcast on Univision successfully raised $6,114,812 and enrolled 1,297 “Padrinos” (godfathers) for the Children’s Rehabilitation Institute TeletónUSA (CRIT). Donations received during TeletónUSA support the work of CRIT serving children with neurological, muscular and skeletal disabilities and their families. It accepts patients regardless of their ability to pay, which makes TeletónUSA especially critical to its mission.
The 17-hour live telecast featured a star-studded lineup, as top celebrities came together under the theme “Every Day, We Count on You” (“Todos Los Días, Contamos Contigo”) to donate their time and talent to this great cause.
“We are immensely grateful to Univision’s audience who tuned to TeletónUSA fundraising event to support our mission of providing comprehensive care for children with disabilities and their families,” said Fernando “Chobi” Landeros, president of TeletónUSA Foundation. “As this year’s theme says, ‘Every Day, We Count on You,’ we are thankful that in these trying times we can still count on Univision and its viewers’ generosity.”
El evento “TeletónUSA” incluyó muchas actuaciones memorables, entre ellas un popurrí por el cantautor Camilo, quien interpretó sus populares canciones “Tú y tú”, “Favorito” y “Vida de rico”; Greeicy que presentó “Los besos”; Natalia Jiménez quien llevó al escenario su canción “Te lo pido, por favor”; una interpretación increíble por Melina León de la canción “Hallelujah”; un popurrí por el dúo Mau y Ricky que incluyó su nuevo sencillo “Ouch” y sus canciones “Tu boca” y Papás”; Christian Nodal, quien interpretó “Mi chula”; un popurrí por Danna Paola de sus canciones “Friend de semana” y “Mala fama”; un popurrí de Paulina Rubio con “Causa y efecto”, “Te quise tanto”, “Nada de esto fue un error”, “Último adiós” y “Ni una sola palabra”, y Sebastián Yatra quien se presentó su éxito “Chica ideal”.
The show also featured a touching musical number by Univision’s personality Alejandra Espinoza and her son Matteo, who performed the song “El Latido de Mi Corazón,” from Disney’s movie Coco. The show also featured inspiring stories and moving testimonies from the children and families at CRIT.
Univision personalities Alejandra Espinoza, “Despierta América’s” Karla Martínez, Raúl González and Alan Tacher, “Enamorándonos” Rafael Araneda and “Hoy’s” Galilea Montijo hosted the show on behalf of TeletónUSA. The charismatic TV personality Charytín Goyco, regional Mexican star and winner of Univision’s “Tu Cara Me Suena” El Dasa, music star Natalia Jimenez, and TV host Paul Stanley, joined the broadcast as co-hosts.
